Cursor's cloud agents can now run on self-hosted machines, keeping tool execution entirely inside your own network with code, build outputs and secrets on internal machines. Agents run on existing sandboxes — AWS Lambda, Coder, Cloudflare, Modal and E2B among others — while team pools scale with demand and hibernate idle machines. Self-hosted workers also gained computer use on Linux and Mac, and you can watch or take over from Cursor. ↗

Cursor Cloud Agents no longer require a connected GitHub or other third-party SCM provider. Users pick "Start from scratch" and prompt the agent; Cursor quietly provisions an Origin repo in the background, and once the build looks good users click "Create repo" to save it with private or internal visibility in the Codebase tab. Live previews are port-forwarded straight to the browser, and publishing is one click via a connected Vercel account. ↗

Cloud agents now operate as an always-on system that picks up work in response to events, holds a goal until it is met, and stays on course through long sessions. New: Subscriptions (agents wake on PR / Slack events), Custom Modes (skills pinned to the chat), Subagents on isolated cloud VMs, a /goal command for long-lived objectives, and Steering that interrupts without cutting the agent off mid-action. ↗

Cursor opens early beta of Origin, its own code hosting service, on every paid plan. Users spin up repos from the new Codebase tab, push code via a CLI, and open pull requests inside the editor with full timeline, commits, checks, and diffs. Cursor agents can read and act on any connected repo, and integrations with Vercel (preview deploys on every PR), Depot and Buildkite ship today; agent features land "soon." ↗

Cursor ships Builds for Cloud Agents — pre-cloned, dependency-installed copies of the dev environment that agents boot into directly instead of setting up each session. Internally 10x faster environment boots and 3x faster time to first token, with automatic fallback to the last successful build if a dependency update breaks the env. Included with Cloud Agents at no extra cost. ↗

Cursor's coding agent gains direct access to Gmail, Google Drive, and Calendar — reading, drafting, and creating across the workspace without copy-paste, complementing the broader rollout of background agents and Slack integration. ↗
